Solid wood floors and Engineered hardwood floors are available in the market. If you opt for the solid wood floors you should know that these wooden blocks can shrink or expand during types of weather. During cold weather they might shrink and in hot weather they might expand. This gives way to gaps between the blocks that are laid in your rooms. There is another type of wooden floors known as the Engineered hardwood floors. Instead of a single wooden piece these Engineered hardwood floors have wooden blocks that are in layers. Multiple layers are stuck together with glues to form the Engineered hardwood floors. These are called multi plies.

Such Engineered hardwood floors have minimal impact in cold and hot weather. So it is better to go for engineered hardwood floors. If you are looking for some different flooring other than the ceramic tile that is cut to different shapes with tile cutters, then it is better to try the engineered hardwood floors.
